1. WHAT IS A PRIVACY NOTICE & WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

We know your personal and that of your child’s information is important to you and Brother Pearse AC takes the protection of that data that we hold about you as a member seriously. This Privacy Notice tells you what we use your (your child’s) personal information for and explains your rights around how we use it.

Please read this Privacy Notice to understand how and why we use your (your child’s) personal information. If you give us personal information about someone else, please make sure you have their permission and make them aware of this Privacy Notice, as it also applies to them.

2. WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND WHY

During the process of registering you and/or your child with Brother Pearse AC (the Club), the Club will need to collect certain information about you/your child – name, address, DOB, contact number and any medical conditions. We will process this information on the basis on legitimate interest. The legitimate interests are the interests of registering you as a member of the Club. We use this personal information to communicate with you about upcoming club events and to provide for your (your child’s) participation in athletics events. We must have a lawful basis to collect and use personal information.

  • Register you/your child with Athletics Ireland
  • To communicate with you/your about upcoming Club events
  • To communicate with you/your about upcoming Athletic events
  • To enter you/your child into athletic events as required

3. WITH YOUR CONSENT:

You need to give consent for us to collect and use personal information classed as sensitive or for certain uses of your/your child’s personal information. You are given the choice to provide consent, or not. When we collect your consent, we will explain what we need it for and how you can change your mind in the future.

4. CONSENT AND HOW TO WITHDRAW CONSENT?

If we process your/your child’s personal information based on consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time.

5. HOW AND WHERE DO WE GET YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM?

You provide us with your/your child’s personal information when you register yourself or your child with the Club.

6. WHO DO WE PASS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO?

We pass you/your child’s personal information to the relevant Club Coaches, The Dublin Athletics County Board, Leinster Athletics, Athletics Ireland and in some cases European Athletics. The data may be shared with other clubs for the purposes of competition and event participation.

We will not transfer your data to any other third parties without obtaining your consent.

7. DO WE TRANSFER YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION OUTSIDE OF THE EU?

Your personal information and /or your child’s personal information is processed and stored within the EU. We do not pass personal information outside the EU.

8. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION FOR?

We keep and use your/your child’s personal information for as long as you have a relationship with us. We will hold it for a period of up to 1 year after you have ceased to have a relationship with us.

9. WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS?

You have a number of rights over your/your child’s personal information which you can exercise free of charge by contacting us using the details in section 9 of this Privacy Notice. You will need to give us information to help us identify you and we will respond to you within one month in line with regulation.
Any restrictions to your rights will be explained in our response.

9.1. Right to Information

You have a right to the information set out in this Privacy Notice. The most recent version of our privacy notice will always be accessible on our website at http://brospearse.com. If we make any changes to the type of personal information we collect and / or how we use it we will inform you of the changes.

We have controls in place to protect your/your child’s personal information and minimize the risk of security breaches. However should any breaches result in a high risk for you, we will inform you without undue delay.

9.2. Right to Restrict or Object

You can restrict or object to any unfair and unlawful collection or use of your/your child’s personal information. You can withdraw consent and object to, for example direct marketing.

9.3 Right to Correct and Update

You can ask us to correct and update personal information we hold about you or your child.

9.4 Right to Delete and Be Forgotten

You can have your/your child’s personal information deleted if it is incorrect, if it is no longer needed or has been processed unfairly or unlawful

You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us directly by phone, email or in person.

9.5 Right to Portability

You can ask for a copy of all personal information that you gave us and which we hold in an automated format. You can receive this in a machine readable format that allows you to keep it.

We must tell you:

  • why we hold it;
  • who we pass it to, including whether we transfer it outside the EU;
  • how long we keep it for;
  • where we got it from; and
  • This right does not allow you to access personal information about anyone else.
