The 2018 Dublin Indoors proved to be a very rewarding competition for all involved with many athletes winning medals across individual and team events.
We started with the U10 relays on the first weekend. We had maximum participation as we fielded 6 relay teams. Our girls A team of Mia Wherity, Ruby Tunney, Alecia Maughan and Caoimhe Nic Mhathuna finished in 2nd place and our girls B team of Erin Chapman, Jennifer Rafferty, Caoimhe Fitzgerald and Farah Halpin finished 4th. Our boys A team of Adam Hayden, Cormac Burke, Conor Delaney and Victor Ozhianvuna qualified for the final and finished 5th.
Next to the individual competition. We had so many fantastic performances with many children getting through the rounds in their events. We started with the 60m and we had Farah Halpin winning gold for the U9 girls and Laila Hurley narrowly missing out on a medal finishing fourth. Our U9 boys had Donagh Monaghan narrowly missing out on a medal also finishing in fourth place. Our U10 boys were also successful with Victor Ozhianvuna winning gold. The 500m proved to be a great competition with Farah Halpin winning gold and Caoimhe Fitzgerald finishing 4th. Our U10 group again performed very well with Victor Ozhianvuna winning a silver medal and Alecia Maughan finishing 4th for the girls.
Overall this was a very successful competition with all athletes thoroughly enjoying themselves.
